The start of a LONG update
Ok so, you all know I moved to a new prefecture. So long Yamanashi, hello Kanagawa. Kanagawa is home to Yokohama and… well alot of rain apparently. I feel like its been raining constantly since I got here.
Anyway, the move went well. Michel and I rented a van and took all of our stuff here pretty late at night, arriving a little after midnight. We had to return to Yamanashi to return the van and because Michel had a graduation ceremony to attend. I left from his apartment for the last time on the morning of March 25th (tear) setting off to meet my parents at the airport. I waited a pretty long time because I am weird and always get places waaaay too early. But they arrived, as evidenced by the picture below, and we headed home to my new house, where I had yet to spend one night!
Michel arrived the next day and we showed my parents around. I think they had a pretty good time. No horrible jet lag hit, they were comfortable on the futons in the living room. We visited the castle in Odawara, went to Tokyo for a day, then we visited my old haunts in Yamanashi. We also took a trip up to Hakone, the mountain near here famous for hot springs.
It was really quiet in the house when they left, Michel and I were kind of surprised. But we settled into the work routine, its actually quite grueling. We work about 30 hours a week each teaching, that doesn’t include all the time we spend preparing our classes. I feel like I am living to work right now instead of the other way around. I am hoping I will find a groove and things will settle down.
Work aside, things are going really great! I love the new house, its not big buti ts a good size and cozy and clean. Michel and I are getting along very well, we have a couch and satelite TV all hooked up and the Sabres are in the conference finals. What more can I ask for?? Oh but Kim left Japan for Vietnam, she will be sorely missed!! I keep thinking I can just call her up and meet up in Tokyo for a weekend… sad really. People really do just come and go in life. Well sorry for the long pause, please enjoy the pictures!!

Splendid…I assume you’re working directly for a BOE…no go-betweens…how does it compare to working for “they who must not be named?”
Nice house by the by.
