Time Off
I finally made it. After a pretty solid four months of working like a virtual slave, I have two weeks off. Michel went home last Sunday, so unfortunately I will spend most of my time off alone I think. Most of my friends have gone home for the summer, for good or are off traveling and the few friends that I do have left in Japanland are working and so can’t do that much. Last Sunday after leaving Michel at the airport Mira called and we met in Tokyo for dinner. Last week I had work still, Monday through Saturday, so that really kept me busy but I wonder what I will do to occupy myself for the coming two weeks.
Today was pretty boring, didn’t have much to do, I think I watched about 6 episodes of Gilmore Girls. But luckily next weekend there is a party at Mutotsuko (a lake near mt Fuji) and I will go to that with Courtney and see the old Yamanashi crew. I have a lot of little things I need to take care of this week like getting my scooter’s insurance renewed and going to the dentist, so hopefully that will keep me busy. While I am in Yamanashi I will get my hair cut, finally. Its been about a year and a half. I am not going to have it cut short, just need to trim the split ends and have it styled.
Next week I am thinking about taking a trip up north to Tohoku and Hokkaido. There is a train pass here that is insanely cheap (about 100 dollars) which allows you to ride any JR train in the country for five days (they dont need to be consecutive). Its only local and rapid trains so I think I will make a lot of stops along the way and see some small cities. We shall see.
Over and out for now!!
